Elizabeth Wyns-Dogbe is a Chartered Insurer and the Chief Executive Officer of Pelmax Insurance Brokers. She has over 20 years’ experience in insurance, risk management and related fields. She possesses unique expertise in both life, non-life and brokerage in insurance business with great strengths in business strategy and restructuring, business development, technical insurance operations including claims administration and negotiations, bancassurance partnerships, and mobile insurance development and implementation. Elizabeth has held top positions in the insurance industry including being the Managing Director of SIC Life Insurance Company Limited.

She spearheaded the design and implementation of one of Ghana’s first mobile micro- insurance products which could be bought, managed and claimed all through the mobile money wallet. She was also key in the development of insurance solutions for fisher folks along the coast of Ghana with the aim of expanding financial inclusion to the underserved. She also has extensive experience in insurance & risk management for the energy and mining sectors in Ghana.

By dint of hard work, Elizabeth has won several industry awards including Best Achiever in Insurance by Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards, 2019; Outstanding Insurance CEO of the Year, 2018 by Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana; Africa International Award of Merit; the CEO of the Year – Life Insurance Category by Ghana Insurance Awards; and the most covetous Marketing Woman of the Year, 2018 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG). She has also been named a trailblazer in insurance by two international insurance organizations.

She has extensive training in leadership and corporate governance. She holds a PhD in Theology, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance option) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science and Engineering from KNUST. She is a fellow of the Boardroom Institute, a Senior Fellow of the African Good Governance Initiative, a Fellow of West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII) and an Associate member of both the Chartered Insurance Institutes of UK and Ghana. She was the Vice-President of the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing Countries (AIRDC).
